Play as a squirrel and fight off the dogs in your local park! Transform between your agile squirrel form and hard-hitting buff form to defend you and a player 2 from being attacked by dogs! Whilst the buff form does more damage, use it wisely as you will not be able to jump to avoid certain attacks!

Sins of the Squirrels was a 6 week project in a team of 5 with myself as the only artist. The project brief was to create a fighting game and so we decided to make an arcade fighter but with squirrels. Being the only artist, I was in charge of the creative direction and so I decided to take inspiration from previous arcade figthters such as Streets of Rage and Mortal Kombat. To give the game a comical aspect, I decided to take inspiration from the art, proportions and animations in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure arcade game.

By the end of the project, I had drawn and animated 2 playable character sprites, each with 8 animations for different states and an additional 6 for when the player transforms into their smaller, more agile 'squirrel' state. As well as this, I drew and animated 2 different enemy sprites with 6 of their own animations. Finally, I drew a detailed background in which I seperated it into layers to create a parallax effect when the player walks forward and created all the menu UI, including a custom, hand-drawn font.
