About me

Hi! I'm Emma Turner, also known as Emmy.

Currently studying BA (Hons) Computer Games Art at the University of Portsmouth!

I'm passionate about a range of different creative hobbies, which is exactly how I got into game development in 2020! After studying art, graphics, music production and computer science across my GCSEs and A-levels, I realised I could combine these skills together with my love of videogames and make my very own. It wasn't easy, but after 20 months of development, I marketed and released my first solo developed game; Project: [REDACTED]! With this single project, I taught myself C# and Unity from scratch as well as how to create and import assets, sound effects and music. After spending so long working on this project, it helped me to realise that whilst I enjoy having so many different creative hobbies and making games by myself, my passion remains primarly with art and drawing which is what led me to apply to study Computer Games Art at university.

Now, after 2 years of studying at university, I've found my passion for 3D character art and aim to one day work as a 3D character artist in the games industry. To help me get to that goal, I'm currently undertaking a self-employed placement year running a business of creating and selling 3D character assets on a variety of platforms.

Some of my favourite videogames include:

  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Hollow Knight
  • Ori and the Blind Forest/ Will of the Wisps
  • Splatoon 3
  • Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/ Tears of the Kingdom
